The Healthy Streets Approach and the 10 Indicators of a Healthy Street were developed by Lucy Saunders, a specialist in public health and transport. These were first included in TfL policy in the first Health Action Plan in 2014 and TfL has been working on how to deliver this Approach in London. The Mayor expects the Healthy Streets Approach to be delivered by all parts of the GLA family, as set out in A City for All Londoners and Healthy Streets for London.

We want to hear about how you currently move around Arlen Hill, which areas don't currently feel safe to cycle in, and which areas you believe would make good locations for bike shelters around the borough. Click the link at the bottom of the page to give your views.

What happens next

We are consulting on our healthy route network alongside the Local Plan Review (our spatial plan that guides development in the borough) and our new Transport Strategy.

This is a first stage consultation and we will consider all the comments received and review our policies accordingly. The healthy routes network will be incorporated into the Transport Strategy which will be referenced by the adopted Local Plan. There will be a further consultation on these two policy documents in Summer 2022.
